Chaplet of St. Joseph
As you pray the Saint Joseph Chaplet, remember to ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Family, and the guardian angels. May the prayers of St. Joseph and the holy rosary bring you closer to Jesus Christ, the Divine Mercy, and the Holy Spirit. May the blessed be the name of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, now and forever. Amen.
The chaplet is made of howlite and silver beads, which symbolize the purity and faith of St. Joseph. This chaplet can also be used to pray the chaplets of other saints, such as St. Anthony of Padua, St. Michael the Archangel, Padre Pio, St. John of the Cross, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
As you pray the chaplet, on the white bead announce the Mysteries of St. Joseph. Ask for St. Joseph's intercession for your special intentions, and for the needs of the holy souls in purgatory. This chaplet is also a powerful aid for praying the Stations of the Cross, and can be a beautiful addition to your collection of rosary beads or rosary bracelets.
The seven sorrows of St. Joseph include the flight into Egypt, the loss of the child Jesus in the temple, the anguish of not being able to find lodging for the Holy Family in Bethlehem, the meeting of Jesus on the way to Calvary, the Crucifixion of Jesus, the taking down of Jesus' body from the cross, and the burial of Jesus. The seven joys of St. Joseph include the annunciation by the angel, the visitation of Mary, the birth of Jesus, the adoration of the shepherds, the presentation of Jesus in the temple, the finding of Jesus in the temple, and the resurrection of Jesus.
To pray the chaplet, begin by holding the chaplet in your hand and saying the "Act of Contrition" on the cross. Then, on each group of beads, say one "Hail Mary" on the silver or purple beads and one "Our Father" on the white bead, followed by the "Glory Be to the Father" prayer. As you pray, consider a mystery of the Rosary on each Our Father bead and meditate on the sorrows and joys of St. Joseph.
The St. Joseph Chaplet is a powerful tool for praying and meditating on the life of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus and the patron saint of the Catholic Church. This chaplet, also known as the "Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows and Joys of St. Joseph," consists of 15 groups of four beads, with each group consisting of one white bead and three silver beads. The white Our Father bead represents St. Joseph's purity and the joys of his life, and the other beads represent his saintly piety and the sorrows he experienced.
This beautiful prayer to Saint Joseph helps one to meditate on the mysteries of Christ our Lord through his eyes. Pray for us sinners Saint Joseph now and at the hour of our death.
