This Black Saint Benedict chaplet includes a Saint Benedict medal inside an 8-point cross at one end and a scroll-shaped St. Benedict crucifix at the other. Sometimes mistakenly referred to as the St. Benedict Rosary, the prayers for this chaplet are different. This is a perfect confirmation gift or a Catholic gift for other occasions, like baptismal gifts or first communion gifts. St. Benedict is a powerful intercessor in times of spiritual warfare. Along with devotions to the Virgin Mary, St. George, or the intercession of St. Michael, these prayer beads are recognized in the Catholic Church as powerful protection against evil through the intercession of these saints.

Pray the Chaplet of Saint Benedict (Sometimes called the "rosary" of the Saint)

This 9-bead devotion is constructed like our other rosary chaplet with black 550 paracord and nine 10mm diameter stainless steel beads, very durable, very rugged. Rosaries from the Social Catholic, including the Crusader rosary, the Momento Mori rosary, and the Mariner paracord rosary, share the same rosary beads. like the beads are made of steel, the same as our Crusader. The crucifix is 1/16th inch, and the medal of St. Benedict is 1/8th inch steel. Pray the chaplet of St.Benedict starting at the medal.

Our other religious items include patron Saint chaplets, patron saint medals, Wall crosses, Garden statues, religious jewelry, Gemstone rosaries, Holy Cards, Wall rosaries, or Holy Water fonts. Please message us and let us know what you would like to see in our store.

Father of Western Monasticism - Miracle Prayer & Prayer for Protection

Benedictine monastic life has borne a lot of fruit in spiritual warfare. This saint took the next step from the Desert Fathers and brought brothers together to strengthen each other through community living. The writings of St. Benedict provide a wealth of insight into how to receive God's blessing and protection.

The letters on the medal represent a prayer of exorcism:
Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti; in English: The Cross of Holy Father Benedict
CRUX SANCTA SIT MIHI LUX; in English: May the Holy Cross be my Light.
NON DRACO SIT MIHI DUX; in English: Let not the Dragon be my guide.
VADE RETRO, SATANA; NUNQUAM SUADE MIHI VANA. SUNT MALA QUAE LIBAS; IPSE VENENA BIBAS; in English: Begone, Satan! and suggest not to me thy vain things; the Cup thou profferest me is evil; drink thou thy poison.

HOW TO PRAY THE ST. BENEDICT CHAPLET [PDF prayer]

While holding the crucifix, make the sign of the cross:
In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Recite the Apostles, Creed:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
and was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

Next recite the following:
Holy St. Benedict, we honor you for your self-sacrifice and solitary devotion to our Lord. May your life of prayer and contemplation inspire in all of us a similar respect for holiness and deep spirituality. We thank you for the Rule of St. Benedict and the strength and example of your monastic commitment. All things begin when we listen to the voice of God. Amen.

On the 9 beads:

Say three Our Fathers
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Say three Hail Marys
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Say three Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
